Statement on the Passing of Evans Freiberger

Former Lafayette Township Trustee served over 35 years

NEW ALBANY, March 2, 2019 – Floyd County Democratic Party Chair Adam Dickey made the following statement in regard to the passing of former Lafayette Township Trustee Evans Freiberger:

“Our Democratic Party family is saddened to learn of the passing of former Lafayette Township Trustee Evans Freiberger. Evans served his community as a Township Trustee for over 35 years. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force.

“Evans Freiberger was a man with a big heart, a quick wit, and a deep passion for his community. He dedicated his service to caring for others in need, enhancing public safety, and being a good steward of the public trust. A mentor to many who joined him in public service, his legacy is that of a true servant leader, second only to the profound love he had for his family.

“Our party extends our heartfelt sympathy to the Freiberger family as well as Evans’ extended family and friends during this most difficult time.”

A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN).
