Striegel replaces Glenn Freiberger, who died last month

NEW ALBANY, June 6, 2015 – Floyd County Democratic Party Chair Adam Dickey has announced the election of Troy Striegel to the position of Lafayette Township Trustee. Striegel fills a vacancy created following the passing the Glenn Freiberger and was selected during a caucus of the party’s precinct committee members on May 29. Streigel will serve for the remainder of the four-year term through 2018 and was also selected to fill the ballot vacancy for the General Election on November 6.

“We are very excited to have Troy Streigel take on this new role following the passing of Glenn Freiberger,” stated Dickey. “Troy appreciates the work the trustee and township board undertake to provide emergency assistance, cemetery maintenance and other services to our community. He will continue the strong tradition of leadership and service offered by our former Trustee Glenn Freiberger.”

Streigel is a small business owner specializing in property management. He is also an active member of Northside Christian Church. He has served on the New Albany Little League Board and as a Coach for Floyd Central High School Softball.

“Floyd County Democrats took the responsibility of filling this vacancy very seriously,” stated Dickey. “We have selected a candidate who is committed to the position and the constituents, will work effectively with the township board, and reflects the values of our party.”
