Floyd Co. Democratic Party Announces Reorganization Results

NEW ALBANY, March 1, 2025 – The Floyd County Democratic Party has announced the results of its quadrennial reorganization held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, electing party officers for the 2025 – 2029 term. The following candidates were elected: 

Chair: Adam T. Dickey
Vice Chair: Jane Willman
Secretary: Anthony Toran
Treasurer: Bill Briscoe

“Each of the candidates in today’s reorganization election offered our party broad leadership ability and brought professional, community, and political experience that will help grow the party and improve the community,” stated Dickey. “Our newly installed officers look forward to the opportunities of the next four years and to making Floyd County a better place to live, work, and raise a family.” 

Newly elected Vice Chair Janey Willman, who previously served as Party Treasurer and head of the Democratic Women’s Caucus, thanked her predecessor, Erica Lawrence, for her service. Lawrence did not seek re-election.   

“I appreciate Erica’s service to our party and our community as I do with all of our former Party leaders,” said Willman. “They have exemplified that our party is a force for good and I hope to spread a similar message in the community as the new Vice Chair.”

“This is a critical moment in the history of our nation,” she added. “While some enjoy rich blessings, many others are feeling the pressure of rising costs of living, the erosion of our rights, and the dismantling of systems to educate our citizens and keep our community safe from harm or disease.”

Dickey agreed and noted that the focus of the local Democratic Party is on building up our community.

“It is critical that our party redouble its efforts, welcome new individuals to our work, and reflect our values in our leadership and actions as party members, candidates, and elected officials,” stated Dickey. “Together, we can make a difference in our community, and we are ready to get to work.”
