Statement on the Passing of Carolyn Eve
Former Floyd County Treasurer & Recorder served 14 years in public office
NEW ALBANY, December 28, 2020 – Floyd County Democratic Party Chair Adam Dickey made the following statement in regard to the passing of former Floyd County Treasurer and Recorder Carolyn Eve:
“Our Democratic Party family is saddened by the passing of former Floyd County Treasurer and County Recorder Carolyn Eve. Eve, who also served as Floyd County Democratic Party Vice Chair, passed away on Friday, December 25th.”
“Known for her no nonsense can do attitude, sharp wit, and big heart, Carolyn had a deep passion for her community. Dedicated to providing good service to the citizens of Floyd County, she was also known for her active involvement in several community organizations including 4-H, Red Cross, Harvest Homecoming, and Life Span.”
“A trusted advisor long after leaving public service, Carolyn could be counted on to provide a clear assessment on civic affairs and continued to help party leaders with both recruiting candidates and identifying community issues. She leaves a legacy of profound love for her community second only to the love she shared for her family.”
“Our party extends our heartfelt sympathy to her husband, Louis Eve, as well as her daughter and extended family and friends during this most difficult time.”
Funeral arrangements will be private. Memorial contributions may be given to the WHAS Crusade for Children, Life Span Resources, or the Floyd Memorial Foundation.
