Democrats offer Define Tomorrow training workshop

NEW ALBANY, July 18, 2017 – The Floyd County Democratic Party has announced it will host its annual candidate and activist training workshop on Saturday, July 29th, beginning at 12:00 p.m. The workshop will be held at the Carnegie Center, 201 E Spring St. in New Albany and will feature regional presenters on a range of campaign related topics.

“There is great interest building in the 2018 election cycle,” stated Party Chair Adam Dickey. “Individuals are looking for ways to standup and speakout on the issues that impact them. This workshop provides prospective candidates and new activists an opportunity to learn skills and techniques to aid them in that effort."

This event is designed to be an interactive workshop providing prospective candidates and political activists an opportunity to better educate and prepare themselves and their campaign teams for a successful campaign for public office. The workshop will include topics such as an update on election law, campaign finance, outreach techniques, public speaking and effective campaign management. A lunch will be provided as part of the half-day training session.

“Any Democrat with an interest in running for office or who would like to help on a campaign should consider attending,” stated Dickey. “This is a perfect opportunity for those interested in politics for the first time to come forward to learn more.”

The workshop is free of charge and open to interested Democrats and their supporters. Individuals who would like to attend can still sign-up for the workshop by contacting Party Chair Adam Dickey at atdickey@gmail.com or via telephone at 812-725-2020.
