Statement on the Passing on Thomas J. Boofter, Sr.

Former County Surveyor served community for 21 years

NEW ALBANY, August 19, 2017 – Floyd County Democratic Party Chair Adam Dickey made the following statement in regard to the passing of former Floyd County Surveyor Thomas Boofter, Sr.:

“It is with deep sadness that I learned of the passing of former Floyd County Surveyor Tom Boofter, Sr. Tom spent most of his career in service to our community as a member of the Army Reserve and as our Floyd County Surveyor for 21 years. He was a member of countless civic organizations and a charter member of the Floyd County Democrat Men’s Club. Our party extends our heartfelt sympathy to his wife, Sandy, his children and grandchildren, as well as his extended family and friends during this time.

“Tom was a committed public servant, a loyal Democrat and more importantly a good friend. He genuinely cared about those he served and worked to make our community a better place.  I feel very privileged to have known and worked with him. He will be deeply missed.”
