Joshua Williams receives 2017 Frank Moore Outstanding Professional Award
GEORGETOWN - Joshua Williams, a Democratic councilman from Georgetown, has received the 2017 Frank Moore Outstanding Professional Award. The award, presented by the Kentucky Credit Union League, recognizes the outstanding accomplishments, time and effort of a credit union professional.
“I am humbled and honored,” said Williams. “I am grateful to have received this award and appreciate the recogniztion by the Kentucky Credit Union League.”
Named in honor of Frank H. Moore, a former manager of L&N Federal Credit Union, the award is bestowed upon an individual who illustrates a commitment to the credit union profession and shares a firm belief in the philosophies of a credit union. This year’s award was presented to Williams due to his commitment to helping others as a financial manager.
“In a short time frame, Williams has worked tirelessly in his ongoing commitment to ensure the credit union philosophy moves forward to a new generation,” stated Penny Haseker, a past recipient and the CEO of Beacon Community Credit Union who presented the award to Williams.
“Josh not only serves his credit union, but, his community as well.”
Williams is currently serving as a Council member for the Town of Georgetown. Additionally, Williams serves as the President of the Georgetown Storm Water Board and of the Georgetown Planning Commission. Additionally, Williams is licensed by the state of Indiana as a foster parent.
As part of his credit union service, Williams has established education grants for those seeking to attend Credit Union National Association management school and has established many fundraisers which allow individuals to attend educational conferences and institutions.
“My goal has been to better the community whether working in a professional or civic capacity,” stated Williams. “I am thankful for living in a community which has given me the opportunity to pursue my passion and make our community better.”
